The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are.  They need you to help make this year successful.

The event takes place for four days from February 14 to 17.

DEALING WITH COYOTES IN YOUR BACKYARD

Palatine Township will be sponsoring a seminar, “Coping With Coyotes,” in response to a citizen’s request.   The seminar will be held at:

Palatine Township
721 S. Quentin Road
Palatine, IL
Friday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m.

There has been a lot of concern recently due to a few pets being killed by coyotes. The seminar will help residents understand the dos and don’ts, as well as what can and cannot be done to keep the coyotes at bay.
