FALL RECYCLING EVENT IN SCHAUMBURG

The Village of Schaumburg is hosting a Fall Recycling Event that will include electronics and paint recycling as well as document shredding!

When:  Saturday, October 14, 2017. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.

Where:  The west parking lot of Boomers Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Rd., Schaumburg.

Who:  Schaumburg residents only (participants will be asked to show ID)

Paper shredding services will be available at no cost to residents. Attendees will also be able to recycle latex and oil-based paints.  Electronic items include computers, small appliances, cell phones, electronic toys, copper wire and more will be accepted.

The following fees will be charged for both types of paints, televisions and monitors:

Latex Paint:
1 Quart=$1
1 Gallon=$2
5 Gallons=$9

Oil Based Paints/Stains:
1 Quart=$4
1 Gallon=$8
5 Gallons=$20

Televisions and Monitors:
TV/Monitor up to 21″ (not including LCD monitors)=$25
TV/Monitor 22 and above (not including LCD monitors=$35
LCD Monitor=$15

Shredding eventState Representative Michelle Mussman, and Boy Scout Troop #493 are giving you the FREE opportunity to shred those old documents and paperwork in your home.

The shredding will take place at:  Trickster Art Gallery, 190 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, IL

SHREDDING AND RECYCLING EVENT IN ROSELLE

Roselle Community Recycling & Shredding Event

When:  Saturday, September 9, 2017.  8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

Where:  Roselle Metra Station, 540 Irving Park Road, Roselle

Who:  Co-sponsored by the Bloomingdale Township Highway Department,  Itasca Bank & Trust and the Village of Roselle.

What:  

****The following options are available to the public:

  • Document shredding.  There is a 4-5 per person limit.  No newspapers, magazines or binders.
  • Thermometer recycling.
  • Winter clothing.
  • Bicycles–working and non-working.
  • Batteries from the following items:  Cars, trucks, cordless phones, cordless tools, two-way radios, camcorders, cameras, bar code scanners, cell phones, laptops.
  • Eyeglasses, hearing aids, printer ink cartridges, cell phones, holiday lights, keys.
  • Miscellaneous:  new and gently used clothing, linens, footwear, household items, dishes, glassware, kitchen utensils, lamps, small appliances, toys, games and sporting goods.
  • Paint:  $2 per gallon fee for latex paint.  $8 per gallon fee for oil based paint.  Paint must be in original container.

****The following options are available to residents of Roselle and Bloomingdale Township:

  • Electronic recycling of the following items:  computers and peripherals, data center equipment (power suppliers), office and telecommunication equipment (copiers, fax machines, phone systems, cell phones, hand held devices, projection equipment, audio equipment, video equipment, TVs, calculators, security equipment, typewriters.
