Come to the Green Side

In the next few weeks the donation boxes that appear in the outlots of shopping centers and strip malls in Schaumburg will begin disappearing. 

The unsightliness of the boxes, as well as the disarray of the piles of donated items that sometimes piled up around the boxes, were the major factors in the recent vote by the village board. 

The only exception to the new ordinance will be organizations or companies maintaining the boxes on their own sites. 

There are resale shops and nonprofit organizations that allow donations or do pick-ups.  Check these out!
