Are you angered or saddened when you see litter threatening the health of the plants and animals that call the Preserves home? Channel those negative emotions and do something positive! Rally your friends and family members and come out to the Busse Boating Center for our first targeted shoreline cleanup.

Litter is a serious problem, but the cleanup will be fun. Forest Preserve Staff will work to deploy groups to different sections of the Busse Reservoir shoreline. Compete with fellow volunteers to see who can collect the most trash. Prizes will be awarded for the largest team and for the heaviest bag of trash. Get photographed with your weirdest piece of litter—one person’s trash might be your “Catch of the Day”. All participants earn serious bragging rights.

Trash grabbers, gloves and bags and refreshments will be provided. Wearing rubber boots is highly encouraged.
