Both SWANCC communities in Schaumburg Township–Elk Grove Village and Hoffman Estates–will be able to take part in the upcoming Electronics Drop-off/Document Shredding Event in Elk Grove Village. Residents from these two Schaumburg Township communities may participate. IDs will be checked.

Acceptable electronics items: Computers – PCs and laptops, Computer Monitors, DVD Players, DVR/Cable Boxes, Fax Machines, Cell Phones, MP3 Players, Peripherals – mice, keyboards, zip drives, MP3 Players, PDAs, Printers, Scanners, Televisions, Video Game Consoles, and VHS players.
Typical documents that can be shredded include medical records, bank statements, personal files, retired tax forms, etc. Staples and paper clips are acceptable, but binders should be removed. Residents will be limited to six file-size boxes of documents.

The Salt Creek Watershed Network is holding a Salt Creek Clean Up on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help restore Salt Creek to its natural state and keep this precious natural resource clean and attractive.
Over the past 22 years, this program has cleaned up 75 cubic yards of garbage from the creek, including bicycle and car parts, construction material and other debris. Volunteers will meet at the Elk Grove High School parking lot at 9:00 a.m.
