Spring Valley SanctuarySpring Valley is looking for eager volunteers to assist them in their conservation efforts at their grounds on Schaumburg Road.  All volunteers should come to the Vera Meineke Nature Center at 1111 E. Schaumburg Road on Saturdays, June 14.  Work will be done from 9-1 and volunteers are welcome during any of those hours.  Dress appropriately for work–especially your feet!

Who:  Residents and Businesses may bring up to 2 boxes of unwanted and outdated documents
When:  Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 9 a.m – 12 noon.
Where:  Schaumburg Township at 1 Illinois Blvd, Hoffman Estates, IL

This event is free and available to Schaumburg Township residents only.  No businesses please.  Residency proof will be required.

LATEX PAINT DROP-OFF FOR DUPAGE COUNTY RESIDENTS

Paint cansDuPage County is offering residents the opportunity to drop off usable latex paint for recycling and reuse.

The paint will be accepted under the following conditions:

  • Paint must be in usable condition.
  • Paint will be less than 10 years old.
  • Paint will not have been frozen or will have been mixed with other products.

This program is offered free of charge to DuPage County residents.

Paint will be accepted:

June 9-July 3 Monday-Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm
Saturday, June 14 & June 28, 8:00am-2:00PM
Woodridge Greene Valley Wastewater Treatment Facility

The free, recycled paint will be available starting June 16.

  • The paint will be filtered and re-blended into a variety of colors, types, and finishes.
  • Recycled paint will be distributed to residents for free during same hours at location.
  • Paint is offered free of charge to any resident, business, non-profit etc. in 5-gallon containers.
