Come to the Green Side

A pilot program is being offered by the village that will provide residents with the opportunity to dispose of syringes and pen needles in a safe manner.

Residents can bring used syringes and pen needles that have been placed in a thick plastic container (e.g. liquid detergent container) or red approved syringe disposal box to the Village of Schaumburg Nursing Division Building located at 521 E. Schaumburg Road. Drop off days will be the second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 am to 1 pm.

Requirements for this program include:

• Must be Village of Schaumburg resident
• Will need to show proof of residency
• Maximum number of containers that will be accepted per resident is two
• Resident will be required to sign the syringe disposal log-in sheet.
