Rain barrelThe Villages of Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates and The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago are teaming up to offer FREE rain barrels.

Orders will be accepted through mid-December, 2016.

For the Hanover Park form, click HERE.

For the Hoffman Estates form, click Here.

Rain barrels are large containers that capture rainwater at the end of a downspout and store the water for later use, for example in watering plants or washing cars. Using water from rain barrels lowers water bills, helps reduce flooding, and can have a dramatic impact on water quality in our rivers and streams.

The 55-gallon barrels are made from reused plastic and come equipped with a spigot, a screw off lid, a garden hose threaded overflow, and screen in the top to help keep out mosquitoes and debris.
