Hello, I live in Roselle. I can find where I can recycle 32 ” in. TV

Comment by Jerry Davis

Hello Jerry,

Your only immediate option is Best Buy but there is a charge. You can check it out here
.

Or, you can also wait for the Roselle Recycling Event that is coming in September. This is a list of all DuPage County Recycling Events that are coming up. I can’t promise that there won’t be a charge to recycle TVs so you might want to call and check. If you plan to go to one of the other events, you might also want to call and ask if they will allow out of district residents to participate. https://www.scarce.org/recycling-events/

I hope this helps.

Best Buy stores located in Illinois and Pennsylvania do not accept televisions for recycling.

Comment by William

Today (6/18/2019) I called the Best Buy in Schaumburg to ask whether they accept TVs for recycling. They do, in fact, accept TVs smaller than 50 inches with a charge of $25 per TV.

Hello David,

I do believe they will help you. There are usually a couple of people there waiting for people to come by and drop off there items.

Will the Hoffman Estates location accept a TV from a resident of Schaumburg? Schaumburg is not on the SWANCC community list, even though it is next to Hoffman Estates. Have an old tube TV that I would like to get rid of, and looking for a free recycling location or event.

Comment by Ethan Max

Hello Ethan,

No, I’m afraid you have to live in a SWANCC community to be able to participate in their dropoffs. IDs are checked. Hoffman Estates and Elk Grove Village are local SWANCC communities and may participate for free.

I’m not aware of any electronic recycling event that allows free recycling of TVs and computer monitors for Schaumburg residents.

Even at the village’s big recycling event in the spring, they had a charge for TVs and monitors.

The only other ongoing, local place that I know of where you can drop TVs off is:

Elgin Recycling at 145 S. Weiler Rd., Arlington Heights, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (*fees apply for TVs and monitors).

If anyone else is aware of a free dropoff location, please feel free to chime in. I would be happy to check it out.
