SCHAUMBURG RECYCLING EVENT SPRING 2024

It’s never too late to get ready for the village of Schaumburg’s big Recycling Event!

The Village of Schaumburg and the Schaumburg Environmental Committee are sponsoring a massive recycling/shredding event to be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wintrust Field (Boomer Stadium) West Lot, 1999 Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg.

This drive-up event is open to the public. It is not for business or commercial entities.

Acceptable items for recycling include:  Personal computers (PCs), laptops, keyboards, electronic mice, hard drives, CD ROM/Zip/Tape drives, modems, cords and cables (power, USB, etc.), VCRs, DVD players, CD players, radios, stereos, tape players, telephones, cameras (film, magnetic tape, digital), palm organizers, gaming consoles,  joysticks/game controls, scanners/fax machines, pagers, paper shredders and answering machines, toner/ink cartridges, and small household appliances. Charges will apply for tube televisions and computer monitors as well as flat panel LCD, plasma and LED TVs. If these items are under 21 inches the price for recycling is $25. If the item is 21 inches and above, the price is $35. LCD monitors are $15.

Document shredding is limited to two copy boxes or paper bags.  The truck will stay until full.  No business or institutional documents will be accepted. 
Allowed: Paper Clips, Staples, and Envelops with windows
Not Allowed: CDs, Plastic Bags, Spiral Notebooks, 3 Ring Binders

Latex Paint recycling prices range from $2.99 to $19.99. Oil Base Paint recycling prices range from $5.99 to $24.99. Please do not mix containers.

Unacceptable items include: Large appliances, air conditioners, water heaters, garbage disposals, regular garbage, paint thinner, gas and other household hazardous wastes.
