In commemoration of National Bike To Work Day, you can meet at Meineke Park on Friday, May 19 for a bike ride to inspire you to continue biking as an option to driving. The ride will kick off at the park at 220 E. Weathersfield Way at 9:30 a.m.
The ride will end at the Municipal Center at 101 Schaumburg Court off of Summit.

***The weekly Electronics Recycling dropoff in Hoffman Estates is being held every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall.***
To assist residents with collecting old electronics and to ensure environmentally safe recycling of these materials, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) developed an Electronics Recycling Drop-off Program to collect electronics on an ongoing basis at no cost to Hoffman Estates residents and other SWANCC Community villages such as Elk Grove Village. Proof of residency will be required.
Village residents can drop off electronics each Monday at the Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road, Hoffman Estates. Your cooperation in adhering to the times and dates is much appreciated.
Electronics will only be accepted on Mondays. Electronics from businesses, churches and schools will NOT be accepted.
The program begins on April 3, 2017 and lasts through November.

Where: Community Development Counter, Elk Grove Village Hall, 901 Wellington Avenue.
When: During open hours, 8:30 to 5:00.
- CFL bulbs that are intact must be placed in a zip-lock bag.
- Household alkaline batteries must be separated from rechargeable batteries in separate bags. Tape the contact points of rechargeable batteries. Do not include those leaking acid. Car, marine or other liquid batteries are not accepted.
- Holiday light strings are only accepted from November through March. All clips, attachments, garland, greens, etc. must be removed.
Who: This dropoff recycling is available to residents of SWANCC communities, Elk Grove Village and Hoffman Estates. Items from businesses are not accepted.
