The Village of Hanover Park has also opened up their recycling to ANY residential household.   You are welcome to recycle your holiday lights and extension cords beginning December 1 and ending in late January.

Take them to the Public Works Garage at 2121 W. Lake Street for disposal.  This dropoff is for HOUSEHOLDS only.

If you live in Hoffman Estates or Elk Grove Village and you have holiday lights that have seen better days or simply aren’t working, here’s a good, green way to get rid of them.

Elk Grove Village residents may drop lights off at:
Elk Grove Village Community Development Counter
901 Wellington Avenue
Elk Grove Village
November 2, 2015 to March 31, 2016

Hoffman Estates residents may drop lights off at:
Village Hall Lobby
1900 Hassell Road
Hoffman Estates
November 30, 2015 – February 5, 2016
Monday through Friday:  8:30 – 5:00
Saturday:  9:00-12:00

Acceptable lights include:  mini-lights (or Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights, extension cords, etc.  All colors and lengths will be accepted. Garland, live greens, wreathes, or other non-recyclables are NOT accepted.  You must live in either one of the two communities listed.
