MORE RECYCLING OPPORTUNITIES AT HANOVER PARK PUBLIC WORKS!

The Village of Hanover Park is pleased to announce that they have added Christmas light and extension cord recycling to their household recycling program.  In conjunction with Elgin Recycling, they will be accepting the lights and cords through February 2011.

As a reminder, it is also possible to recycle household batteries, electronics, and CFL bulbs at Hanover Park.  These items are collected year round and are open to residents and non-residents alike.

As a reminder, the types of batteries accepted are:

Nickel Cadmium
Nickel – Metal Hydride
Lithium – Ion
Alkaline
Non – Spillable Lead Acid
Primary Lithium

All of the above items can be brought to the Public Works facility located at 2041 Lake Street, weekdays, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

When making the trip, don’t forget that you can also drop off your electronic items.  Accepted are:   computers, CPUs, monitors, keyboards, televisions, radios, microwaves, laptops, printers, cell phones, UPS systems, PDU’s, fax machines, phones, DVD players, VCR’s and stereo equipment.

Please be aware these recycling options are  restricted to households only.
