This event is the best in the area! I checked into the company CloudBlue and they are a true recycler and do NOT export the ewaste or scrap to China like the other recyclers in the area. My company uses them as well so I know they are the real deal. I love Schaumburg hosting this type of event and I commend them for doing their research on the companys they pick to do this with. Save the earth day!

Great event last year. But no TVs? Come on! Not really dedicated to saving the planet, are we?

I thought the same thing about the TV’s. I have brought stuff to the last three events put on by the Village. But they didnt accept TV’s last time either. I thought they would this time since the new digital TV thing in 2009. I asked the company (CloudBlue) who does the recycling and they said that because the event is free they can not accept TV’s. They told me that the cost is to high to properly recycle them and the Village was not willing to pay for them to be recycled.

I agree that it’s regretful that the CloudBlue could not take televisions but, if you’re looking for a place to drop off a TV, check out the earlier posting about the dropoff at the Hanover Park Public Work’s garage. It is nice and close and might just work for you. Here is the info:

Who: Hanover Park Public Works Facility in conjunction with DuPage County and SIMS Recycling Solutions
When: Beginning June 2, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M.
Where: Hanover Park Public Works Facility
2121 W. Lake Street, Hanover Park
What: Computers, CPUs, monitors, keyboards, televisions, radios, microwaves, laptops, printers, cell phones, UPS systems, PDU’s, fax machines, phones, DVD players, VCR’s and stereo equipment. Items containing liquids or refrigerants will not be accepted. Businesses may not participate.
Info: (630) 372-4440
