Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards
Meets: Outdoor volunteer work days are held every weekend with the intent of restoring native habitats. Meet at the Poplar Creek Forest Preserve at 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot on the west side of Rte. 59 between Shoe Factory Road on the north and Golf Road (Rte. 58) on the south. Drive in approximately 1/4 mile and park across the drive from the first pavilion.

How many packages have you opened only to have those pesky stryofoam peanuts come spilling out? As a packing material, these peanuts act as a great cushion but, in order to keep them out of a landfill, it is necessary to reuse them. In Schaumburg Township these peanuts can be taken to Pak Mail. They are one of the Peanut Hotline Collection sites and are generously accepting peanuts from the public–as well as conducting a Cell Phones for Soldiers program. So, take your peanuts and phones to:

The film Earth: The Biography will be shown in the Audiovisual Theater on Friday, June 5 from 4-8 p.m. Children age 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.
